There is an excellent poll that was performed by the World Public Opinion group which deals with what people think of public opinion and how much lawmakers should consider public opinion in forming policy. The results were very interesting and show that most Americans don’t share VP Dick Cheney’s views on the subject. Cheney recently had this to say in an interview on ABC’s Good Morning America:
CHENEY: On the security front, I think there’s a general consensus that we’ve made major progress, that the surge has worked. That’s been a major success.
RADDATZ: Two-third of Americans say it’s not worth fighting.
RADDATZ So? You don’t care what the American people think?
CHENEY: No. I think you cannot be blown off course by the fluctuations in the public opinion polls.
Well then. Let’s see what the American public thinks about that.
This is not that unexpected. The American people are opposed to tyrrany. Now the only problem is to turn that sentiment into a revolution.
