Bush lies again to get us to war with Iran! Impeach now!

Our idiot in chief has lied bigtime here with not a single fact to back up his assertion.

“The problem is the government cannot be trusted to enrich uranium because one, they’ve hidden programs in the past and they may be hiding one now, who knows; and secondly, they’ve declared they want to have a nuclear weapon to destroy people — some in the Middle East,” Bush said. “And that’s unacceptable to the United States, and it’s unacceptable to the world.”

Simply astounding!  At the same time, the Russian Foreign Minister is in Tel Aviv warning disastrous consequences for any military action against Iran:

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Thursday warned that any military means to solve Iran’s controversial nuclear programme would have a “disastrous” effect.

“Any forceful attempts to resolve this issue by non-peaceful means would undermine all that has been done to bring clarity into the Iranian nuclear programme,” Lavrov said in a press conference with his Israeli counterpart Tzipi Livni.

He warned against attempts to undermine the International Atomic Energy Agency inspection of Tehran’s programme.

“As long as the inspectors report that they have not found that there is some deviation of this programme into the military field I think it would be disastrous for us to undermine this very efficient and important process.”

Fortunately for the American public, the Washington Post did a decent job for a change and showed counter arguements to the Bush Administration’s claim that Iran’s Ahmadinejad said he wants to destroy Israel with a nuclear bomb:

Joseph Cirincione, president of the Ploughshares Fund, a global security foundation specializing in nuclear policy, called Bush’s statement “uninformed” and “troubling.”

“Iran has never said it wanted a nuclear weapon for any reason,” he said. “It’s just not true.”

Asked to explain Bush’s comment, White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe said he spoke in “shorthand,” combining Iranian threats against Israel with concerns about Iran’s nuclear program.

“The president was referring to the Iranian regime’s previous statements regarding their desire to wipe Israel off the map,” Johndroe said. “The president shorthanded his answer with regard to Iran’s previously secret nuclear weapons program and their current enrichment and ballistic missile testing.”

In an October 2005 speech to a conference on a “World without Zionism,” Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was quoted by a state-run Iranian news agency as agreeing with a statement by Iran’s late spiritual leader, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, that “Israel must be wiped off the map.” Iran’s foreign minister later said the comment had been incorrectly translated from Farsi and that Ahmadinejad was “talking about the [Israeli] regime,” which Iran does not recognize and wants to see collapse.

According to Farsi-speaking commentators including Juan Cole, a professor of Middle Eastern history at the University of Michigan, Ahmadinejad’s exact quote was, “The Imam said that this regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time.” Cole has written that Ahmadinejad was not calling for the “Nazi-style extermination of a people,” but was expressing the wish that the Israeli government would disappear just as the shah of Iran’s regime had collapsed in 1979.

I Don’t Know Why Bush ( USA ) Can Not Iran or The other Countries be , I think that they should look into their own Domestic Issues in USA rather than finguring other countries for their oil or what ever wealth that they might be sitting on .
All Countries should leave this habbit of interfiering with other’s domestic, ecconomical. ciltural and etc Isuues.
may I add that Iran has never Claimed that she wants NC Bomb or any other atomic weapons to destroy any country , It amazez me that the Amercan people DO NOTHING about all the Lies that this Government and the one’s before have told.
to me most Amerucan People are Inteligent and Clever and Mostly with great head on their shoulder’s but I don’t know why they belive the hype on the media and news program that are made by the very same people that have told them lies for so many years.

it is funny how the adminstration of the US government have always tried to make iranians look like a monster to the American public, have they forgot that they used to live in this country during the SHAH’s time ?? they were always treated with respect and as far as I remember they all loved it here specialy since they had great privilages and they were free to go anywhere in the country as they wished and they were always welcomed by the Locals .
So please I say this to Bush and his Admin Please leave iranians and let them be have you forgot that we are all humans and have great potentials to be kind and loving to one another no mattar who we are and what colour or what Cread we may be .
This is not the first time that american government intefiere with other countries and I am sure it would not be the last .

Bush has lost face in the political world and feels that he needs to do something in order to leave his office with a big BANG but you have no need to do that , the people of the world know that you are not a stable and normal person and as for being a leader I amy give you 1 out of Hundred

I hear you Mojo. The USA seems to be bent on bringing war to all the earth. Absolutely we should be leaving Iran alone right now. We have no courage over here and we do not impeach our leaders even though our constitution allows us that privilege. We are deceived by our leaders and our media sources and yet we continue to beleive what we hear. I think we are somewhat brain-dead, or brain-washed or something like that. We have patriotism built into us at a young age and it is difficult to disown the false image of the “inherent goodness” of our country. So we continue to believe what we are spoon-fed. We are always looking for an enemy, or someone to demonize so that we can feel better about our own selves, so that we can sit on higher moral ground, even though it is false security.

It is so exasperating. Currently in polls, McCain, who is the same as Bush, is leading in the presidential race! We have learned nothing.

If you have never seen the movie, “The Truman Show” I recommend it. It shows very well how those in power can choose to create an alternate reality for us to perceive, and this becomes the norm, when in fact, they are keeping us in that false ‘reality’ because it suits their objectives. We are similarly wrapped up in webs of deceit and live in a figurative bubble. Like Jim Carey though, we need to break out.
