Origins of the Israeli Zionist massacres of Palestinians etc… selected quotes

“Menahem Begin, the Leader of the Irgun, tells how ‘in Jerusalem, as elsewhere, we were the first to pass from the defensive to the offensive…Arabs began to flee in terror…Hagana was carrying out successful attacks on other fronts, while all the Jewish forces proceeded to advance through Haifa like a knife through butter’…The Israelis now allege that the Palestine war began with the entry of the Arab armies into Palestine after 15 May 1948. But that was the second phase of the war; they overlook the massacres, expulsions and dispossessions which took place prior to that date and which necessitated Arab states’ intervention.” Sami Hadawi, “Bitter Harvest.”

“For the entire day of April 9, 1948, Irgun and LEHI soldiers carried out the slaughter in a cold and premeditated fashion…The attackers ‘lined men, women and children up against the walls and shot them,’…The ruthlessness of the attack on Deir Yassin shocked Jewish and world opinion alike, drove fear and panic into the Arab population, and led to the flight of unarmed civilians from their homes all over the country.” Israeli author, Simha Flapan, “The Birth of Israel.”

“By 1948, the Jew was not only able to ‘defend himself’ but to commit massive atrocities as well. Indeed, according to the former director of the Israeli army archives, ‘in almost every village occupied by us during the War of Independence, acts were committed which are defined as war crimes, such as murders, massacres, and rapes’…Uri Milstein, the authoritative Israeli military historian of the 1948 war, goes one step further, maintaining that ‘every skirmish ended in a massacre of Arabs.'” Norman Finkelstein, “Image and Reality of the Israel-Palestine Conflict.”

“Joseph Weitz was the director of the Jewish National Land Fund…On December 19, 1940, he wrote: ‘It must be clear that there is no room for both peoples in this country…The Zionist enterprise so far…has been fine and good in its own time, and could do with ‘land buying’ – but this will not bring about the State of Israel; that must come all at once, in the manner of a Salvation (this is the secret of the Messianic idea); and there is no way besides transferring the Arabs from here to the neighboring countries, to transfer them all; except maybe for Bethlehem, Nazareth and Old Jerusalem, we must not leave a single village, not a single tribe’…There were literally hundreds of such statements made by Zionists.” Edward Said, “The Question of Palestine.”

“During May [1948] ideas about how to consolidate and give permanence to the Palestinian exile began to crystallize, and the destruction of villages was immediately perceived as a primary means of achieving this aim…[Even earlier,] On 10 April, Haganah units took Abu Shusha… The village was destroyed that night… Khulda was leveled by Jewish bulldozers on 20 April… Abu Zureiq was completely demolished… Al Mansi and An Naghnaghiya, to the southeast, were also leveled. . .By mid-1949, the majority of [the 350 depopulated Arab villages] were either completely or partly in ruins and uninhabitable.” Benny Morris, “The Birth of the Palestinian Refugee Problem, 1947-1949.

“The winter of 1949, the first winter of exile for more than seven hundred fifty thousand Palestinians, was cold and hard…Families huddled in caves, abandoned huts, or makeshift tents…Many of the starving were only miles away from their own vegetable gardens and orchards in occupied Palestine – the new state of Israel…At the end of 1949 the United Nations finally acted. It set up the United Nations Relief and Works Administration (UNRWA) to take over sixty refugee camps from voluntary agencies. It managed to keep people alive, but only barely.” “Our Roots Are Still Alive” by The Peoples Press Palestine Book Project.

“Senator [J.William Fulbright] proposed in 1970 that America should guarantee Israel’s security in a formal treaty, protecting her with armed forces if necessary. In return, Israel would retire to the borders of 1967. The UN Security Council would guarantee this arrangement, and thereby bring the Soviet Union – then a supplier of arms and political aid to the Arabs – into compliance. As Israeli troops were withdrawn from the Golan Heights, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank they would be replaced by a UN peacekeeping force. Israel would agree to accept a certain number of Palestinians and the rest would be settled in a Palestinian state outside Israel.

“The plan drew favorable editorial support in the United States. The proposal, however, was flatly rejected by Israel. ‘The whole affair disgusted Fulbright,’ writes [his biographer Randall] Woods. ‘The Israelis were not even willing to act in their own self-interest.'” Allan Brownfield in “Issues of the American Council for Judaism.” Fall 1997.[Ed.-This was one of many such proposals]

Maybe its 2008 and time for the future? 😉

  2. 3 Katzenelson January 20, 2008 at 6:28 am

Look up “future” in your dictionary, don’t be a clown! 😀

Prediction: Peace Nobel Prize 4 IDF & IAF!

In looking to the future, you need to first understand the past in order to come to a just solution for present problems. The past cannot be ignored. As for your prediction, that would be about as likely as Bush taking it.

Thanks for the post radicalmormon. I think people are more willing to accept facts from non-arabs. Betweem 1920 and 1948 the jewish immigrants (note that the jewish residents lived peacefully with their muslim and christian neighbors) started organizing “militias” that in reality were simple terrorist organizations. The main reason for the refugee crisis now is because people fled for their lives. Especially after Deir Yassin, nobody felt safe.

Only a radical moron can wish for all sides to continue fighting, in the name of history and crap.

To all online-heros of copy-pasting: Why don’t you come over and die yourself for a while?!

Whatever fight it might be while referring to history: The Israelis will win, their fashist enemies are doomed, as always.

Thanks Edmund. It’s hard to stay silent in view of what’s going on over there right now.

Katz, I don’t think you understand me at all. I don’t want anyone to continue violence. However, Palestinians do have legitimate grievances which must be managed before any sort of lasting peace can be had. The refugee issue, the land-grab issue etc. You can’t have a peace settlement while Israel has its foot on the Palestinian’s neck. Your use of the term “fascist” is innappropriate in reference to Palestinians.

    theradicalmormon: “I don’t think”

For once you’re right; but too late. Flush your hate down the toilet, will ya?!

    Nuff said.

  8. 9 theradicalmormon January 21, 2008 at 12:18 am

Again, you wrong me friend. I have no hatred for Jews. I want them to do right by the Palestinians and I want their war criminals to pay the price of their crimes so that justice is served, but I do not hate Jews.

  9. 10 Katzenelson January 21, 2008 at 1:01 am

I never said that you hate Jews especially, how could I? But now since you mention it yourself: I think you do.

I’m a non-Jewish Israeli, a German catholic atheist – and I do sense the ugly smell of hate when people like you selectively copy-paste old placative articles about “Israeli Zionist massacres!!!” for no good reason and instead of doing anything else to waste some lifetime.

Lets face it: You chose a single subject above all others here, certainly to inflame, probably to gain some cheap traffic as well, on other people’s expense, without seeking justice for all. You are no help while you make yourself a part of the problem, but not of any solution – you’re like a cancer that nobody really needs.

You “want war criminals to pay the price of their crimes so that justice is served”? Thats pathetic! Who the little (bleep) are you?! A sick kid? And Jews were/are leading the numbers of war criminals, are you sure?

Again: Come here or shut up where you are! I’m sure there are plenty of problems in your own neighborhood and country, most likely some you don’t want me to even ask about – you got no need to stick another dirty nose into the troubled Middle East.

We fight for security, maybe later for peace, with the blessing of the world’s community and without serving haters – and there is nothing you and your copy-paste machine (with all that Israeli technology in it) can do about it. So don’t be a clown, stop “resistance” now!

If you still wanna fight war criminals in the Middle East: Come with me, serve the army, be an “occupier” and “oppressor”, lets have some fun, you idiot!

Long live the IDF & IAF!

    Katz,

Context is king man. We were talking about Israel and Palestine and you were talking about hate. I don’t hate Jews.

You are mistaken when you say that I do this for no good reason. I do it so that people can become aware of the great injustice perpetrated by Israel upon Palestine. I do it in the interests of justice. I do it because my conscience will not let me sit still otherwise. I do it because my country, the USA, is supportive of murders and oppressions all over the world, and we are no different in our support of Israel and its murderous policies.

Certainly I am a cancer to the likes of juvenile murderers such as yourself. It is only the mind of a murderer created by the IAF/IDF that can say that it is “fun” to oppress and occupy Palestine.

Katz, you come to my site with no substantive input. You litter my comment box with mindless word drool and contribute nothing. If you have something to say that I can argue with then go ahead and say it. Do you disagree that Zionist terrorism is at the heart of the creation of Israel? Do you disagree that Israel expelled 750,000 palestinians in 1948 and created a massive refugee problem? Do you disagree that Zionism is all about pushing as many Arabs out of the “holy land” as possible? What part of the above post do you disagree with?

I will not go to Israel. I have enough work cut out for me here. I work to oppose everything that AIPAC does so that my tax dollars don’t go towards war in the middle-east. I have posted a lot on the middle east lately since that is where the action is. However, I comment on the whole world… everywhere that the footprint of US imperialism can be found. My voice is small and contrary to your ramblings, I do not do it for cheap traffic. I get very little traffic here, much less than if I posted on the NFL or some other sort of popular topic. However, I do this because my God has commanded that I fight against all secret combinations or in other words, all that seek for the glory of the world, or for riches or for power… at the expense of life. Israel definitely falls into that category.

  11. 12 Katzenelson January 21, 2008 at 3:15 am

Uh, now it is “your” God who is to blame for your hatred, what an argument – fall down your knees, kid, and pray! Don’t you ever stop praying, you’ll need it to get around your helpless situation; believe: me!

And by the way, since you don’t know by your little self: The Irgun found its end soon and for certain reasons, which clearly indicates that terror has no supporters amongs Jews, never had and never will have. But then again, that wouldn’t serve much your the argument of your hatred towards Jews itself, wouldn’t it?!

I should feel sorry for ya, at least a while, since its 2008 already… but I’m just not in the mood.

Keep it up: You got articles for free on the internet and a blog that doesn’t cost you a dime – quite an investment for a serious justice seeker and a radical moron like you, calling me “Katz” all the time… huahahahaaa!

Boy, if you are the enemy then I don’t need friends – you’re too harmless to be taken serious, don’t you (ever) think?! You can’t even spell an article by yourself – what a pathetic blogger you are, what a jerk!

  12. 13 theradicalmormon January 21, 2008 at 3:24 am

Can’t argue with that kind of logic.
