Israeli atrocities continue and get worse

Horrible stuff is going on in Gaza these days.  In addition to the humanitarian crisis causing immense suffering in Gaza, the IDF is increasing military operations every day, getting a quota of at least one kill per day over the last few weeks in what they are calling “targeted killings”.  Read this little propaganda piece here in which Palestinians which attacked IDF in Gaza are called “terrorists.”

On Thursday the IDF killed 9 in an attack, including women and children:

Nine people, including a mother and daughter and at least four militants, were killed in the Israeli attacks, while 33 people were wounded and several houses destroyed, the sources said.”

Of course the civilian deaths are not the fault of the IDF as we read here:

“An army spokeswoman said ground forces were engaged in heavy exchanges of fire with Palestinian fighters who were hiding in houses, saying civilian casualties were caused because “they were letting militants into their homes.”

It’s funny how civilians killed by Israel are never Israel’s fault, but when you get a civilian killed by Hezbollah last year for example, it’s an atrocity.  The hypocrisy of this sort of thinking was recently exposed by Jonathan Cook in this good article:

Of course sources in Gaza have no problem explaining the deaths of civilians in clearer terms:

GAZA, January 3, 2008 (WAFA) – Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) killed on Thursday a citizen and wounded four others in Gaza City, medical sources said.”

“Medics reported that Yasser Hellis was instantly killed when Israeli drones fired missiles at a group of citizens in al-Shujai’ya neighborhood, east of the city.”

“Witnesses said that large number if Israeli tanks and bulldozers rolled into the neighborhood in the afternoon, opening fire at the overpopulated area.”

Interestingly, these so-called “targeted killings” are reportedly supported by 81% of the Israeli population according to a new poll out in Israel:

A vast majority – 81 percent – of Israelis support increasing the targeted killings of Palestinian militants, according to a poll administered by Tel Aviv University’s “Peace Index” survey.”

I bet I can tell you the ethnicity of the 19% who thought it wasn’t a good idea to continue these killings:

Some 10,000 Israeli-Arabs took to the streets of Nazareth Saturday afternoon in a mass demonstration demanding an end to the “siege on the Gaza Strip”.,7340,L-3490630,00.html

Things are looking worse and worse over there.  I see no help coming from the US presidential elections either.  It is far away still and the candidates are all attached to AIPAC by the umbilical cord.

here’s a crazy wacky idea. How about instead of setting up their military positions among the civilian populace, the Hamas “Freedom Fighters” fight the Israelis from fixed positions AWAY from their towns? Or if they want to engage in pitched battle in dynamic flanking maneuvers than they do so, once again, FROM OUTSIDE THEIR CITIES.

I know, it’s insane. I mean what the hell was I thinking expecting Hamas mortar teams to refrain from firing on Israeli targets from inside a kindergarten?

Here’s an even more crazy and wacky Idea. How about if Israel stops firing on kindergartens and goes back home and gives Palestinians their land and water and money back which they have been stealing from them. And then, give back the so called “administrative detainees” who are held for extended periods of time without charge in Israeli gulags. And then they could stop torturing people who come thru the border crossings and using palestinian arabs as human shields when they do their raids into Gaza.

Interesting how this arguement comes up and people forget so easily how Israeli armed force bases are based in civilian cities in northern Israel, which was the main reason Israeli civilians were killed at all by Hezbollah missiles in 2006.

In a place as crowded as Gaza, there is way too much mention made of this.

Here’s something even wackier. The UN is reporting that now Israel is confessing that there was no fire from the UN school and that their previous claims were absolutely baseless.,extra-un-israel-admits-rocket-fire-was-not-from-within-school.html

Hey guys….do you study the REAL Bible?? If you did you would know that the “Palistians” were the original Phoenecians. Never in the land before Abraham, Isaac or Jacob. Hmmm, so you think it would be okay for Canadians to shell Seattle and we should just “talk” with the mortar crews. I think the title here should be the Radical Moron

Hey Rad, there’s video from aircraft of rocket fire from that school, no matter what the lying UN says…and yes, they do lie, and they are in bed with the paleosimian terrorists.

Canadians shelling Seattle? I suppose it would be ok if Seattle had been shelling Canada to the tune of about 8X the firepower that Canada had been using. The analogy only works if you know the whole story. Seattle hasn’t been stealing Canadian land and killing Canadians and siphoning Canadas water during the summer and keeping Canadians in jail without charge etc.

Provide a source please. The Israeli government has lied so often about these sorts of things it’s pathologic. The proven track record seems to favor the UN version of events.

It turns out you are probably referring to a video that was re-released by Israel of an incident from 2 years ago. There is no evidence of fire from the UN school being produced publicly by the IDF yet.
