Israel will attack Iran according to inside sources

Well isn’t that nice.  A former CIA official and advisor to three US Presidents reports in Newsweek that during his recent visit to Israel, some of his buddies in the Mossad and the IDF confided in him that Israel will attack Iran as, “Israel is not going to allow its nuclear monopoly to be threatened.”

He states that the NIE makes it even more likely that this will occur as Israel is sort of left on its own in combatting Iran right now.

On the other side of things, the USA is still making loud noises in demanding that Iran come clean on the nuclear weapons program that the USA claims it had up until 2003.  That this claim hasn’t been verified at all is of no consequence to the USA as it used similar tactics against Saddam and Iraq in the runup to the Iraq war.

The media really needs to demand proof of the alleged nuclear weapons program from the USA government and then offer Iran a chance to explain the evidence.  Instead, we see the same blind acceptance that got us into our last disastrous war.

Here is the article from the Jerusalem Post about the upcoming attack:

And here is an example of the rhetoric the USA is using to gain support for action against Iran:

“The media really needs to demand proof of the alleged nuclear weapons program from the USA government and then offer Iran a chance to explain the evidence.”

Since when did the media have the right to demand squat beyond what is available through the FOIA? Since when did the media have the right to demand an explanation from anyone?

Perhaps we’re having problem with wording, but it sounds like you think of the media – vultures one and all – as some sort of arbitration body. They are no such thing and have no rights at all beyond the right to speak as they will.

That being said, I’m not “convinced” of an immediate nuclear threat from Iran. They lie to saber rattle as much as our government does and ae equally nationalist. I’m not convinced there isn’t one either. The NIE report – despite the Left’s acclamation still put Iran as having nuclear weapons capabilities by 2012 – that’s only 4 years!

What I’m getting at is that the Media in the US didn’t hold the government’s feet to the fire in the runup to the Iraq war as in requiring the Government to provide solid evidence for the allegations they were making in all of the fearmongering regarding WMDs in Iraq in 2003.

Some media outlets apologized for their lame blind acceptance of the government’s official line (which turned out to be completely false in 2003). Because of media reporting in 2003, we had public support for the war on Iraq which has destroyed that country. Now, the same thing is happening with regards to Iran. If the media doesn’t get us the straight story and go beyond what the government is telling us (much of which I trust is a lie, including the claim that there was a nuclear weapons program in 2003 in Iran) we will possibly have the same situation wherein the public will be rallied by the media to support another disastrous war, this time with Iran.

Ahh…thanks for clarifying. Well said. Blind acceptance is no way to live.

Excellent post. With more people like you and posts as such, the “average” reader may get educated and wake up to the fact that Zionism is hazardous to the World. But with the collapse of Apartheid, Zionism and its structure will too collapse: just like the Bar Lev line collapsed in 1973 when the Zionist thugs declared it impenetrable!

Yes, it will collapse as Ahmadinejad has predicted (he didn’t say he was going to be the cause of the collapse), but it won’t go down without causing some pain for the rest of the world. Thanks for stopping by.
