Bush and Rice care about Burma? Fat chance.

John Pilger gave this speech a couple of days ago.  He rightly pointed out that for all the crowing of Bush and Rice and many others, they are actually accomplices in the murders and abuses of the Burmese junta.  Bush and Rice speak of sanctions but mention nothing of Chevron and their twisted marriage with the junta.  Pilger goes on to point out several other connections to Burma’s junta, including Israel’s training and weapons technology.

For anyone who has seen that great movie, “Beyond Rangoon,” these hypocrisies should be a good cause for outrage.  I really wish some journalist would hold Bush’s feet to the fire on the Chevron issue.  Where are the gutsy people when it comes to this sort of issue?
