UN General Assembly shows strong support for Palestine

Originally published 12/2/06:

Wow.  The UN General Assembly has been very active lately, in particular in presenting resolutions calling for Israel to withdraw from Palestinian lands and to abstain from exercising jurisdiction on Jerusalem.  Both resolutions were resoundingly voted for by greater than 150 nations to 6 or 7 (the US, Israel and the US’s protectorates in the Pacific Ocean being the main opposition).

Here’s how the voting went:

This was a strong show of support for Palestine from the world body that is not legally binding, but should send a message hopefully.

Yeah, the same goes for the US. The Jews would have to listen if the US ever backed the UN up. Just not going to happen though eh?
