Saving Venezuela from Democracy, using Gadianton methodology

The Federal Government is going to investigate a Venezuelan corporation that owns alot of electronic voting machines in the USA, to make sure there are no ties between the Venezuelan Government and our elections.  Of course, the implied but unspoken theme here is that if Venezuela somehow had control over our voting machines, they could and would fraudulently change the results and let the democrats win or some sort of hogwash like that.

I seriously doubt that Venezuela would attempt something like that, especially since they have shown a greater respect for democracy that the US has in recent years.  The leadership there has been elected in free and fair elections many times in recent years, certified by the Jimmy Carter organization, the Organization of American States and other international observers.  Chavez has pretty much won by landslides there recently and probably will in the upcoming elections as well.  There are serious secret combinations in the US government that have sought to subvert democracy in Venezuela in recent years though.  We have spent 10’s of millions of dollars on Chavez’s opposition parties in elections and supported a coup against a democratically elected leader as well as the sabotage of the massively lucrative and state supporting oil industry there.  Now, we are funnelling money thru the National Endowment for Democracy, the USAID, the International Republican Institute and likely covertly thru the CIA as well, to Chavez’s opposition which really stands very little chance to win.  You can read a summary of all of this at:

Another good article on Venezuelan electoral politics can be found here:

This reminds me of the Hillary Clinton quote in one of my recent posts.  She said that, “If we were going to push for an election, we should have made sure we did something to determine who was going to win instead of signing off on an electoral system that advantaged Hamas.”  Hillary let slip here the way the US government likes to work.  We like democracy as long as our people get elected.  We like it when we can be assured that rulers friendly to US foreign policy will be elected, those that open up their country for big business to pillage etc.  Democracy in Venezuela is working way too well for our tastes though.  It would seem that our only option would be the Pat Robertson option if you recall… “If he thinks we’re trying to assassinate him, I think we really ought to go ahead and do it.  It’s a whole lot cheaper than starting a war.”

We seem to be fitting well the role of the great secret combination of the last days as Moroni told us in Ether 8:24-25:

  24 Wherefore, the Lord commandeth you, when ye shall see these things come among you that ye shall awake to a sense of your awful situation, because of this secret combination which shall be among you; or wo be unto it, because of the blood of them who have been slain; for they cry from the dust for vengeance upon it, and also upon those who built it up.   25 For it cometh to pass that whoso buildeth it up seeketh to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries; and it bringeth to pass the destruction of all people, for it is built up by the devil, who is the father of all lies;
